		<description>Quick fire typographic project, to produce a postcard based on a local headline from the last few months. Stumbling across an article entitled ‘Pies are Tops’ explaining the recent success of our local Butcher (Bel’s) &#38; her pies back in my hometown Edzell.

This seemed too good a write-up to pass up, especially finishing with the quote “… a fantastic achievement as these winners represent the upper crust of the Scottish meat industry …”.

After a few layout decisions and hand crafting a blackboard, the go ahead to recreate a ‘butcher’s specials’ chalkboard came to fruition, 3 sticks of chalk and a few evenings spent hunched over on this, here is the final result.

		<description>2012 Winner - YCN Student Awards &#38; International Creativity Awards Promotional Packaging

Brief - Create an imaginary packaging range for Google's family of products.

Concept - In order to package Google, each box represents a different family of products. The five smaller boxes slot into place within the large blue cube, which epitomises Google as a whole. The process of unpacking each box sequentially into a row creates a resemblance to the logo in a minimal format. The structure of the packaging is reminiscent of children’s building blocks which further communicates Google’s playful tone as well as being simple and to the point.

&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y8.jpg" width="600" height="372" width_o="600" height_o="372" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y8_o.jpg" data-mid="16151844"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y5.jpg" width="600" height="372" width_o="600" height_o="372" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y5_o.jpg" data-mid="16151730"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y4.jpg" width="600" height="383" width_o="600" height_o="383" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y4_o.jpg" data-mid="16151733"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Contents - Taking the idea that Google is not a physical thing, and merely exists on the internet, each box simply contains a recess in the shape of the original physical counterpart. The logo in each box encompasses a product family - Web, Home &#38; Office, Media, Geo and Social. Accompanied by a tagline corresponding to the product’s personal function.

&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y3.jpg" width="600" height="385" width_o="600" height_o="385" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y3_o.jpg" data-mid="16151739"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y2.jpg" width="600" height="445" width_o="600" height_o="445" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y2_o.jpg" data-mid="16151737"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Logo Design - Existing Google logos have been used in each box to summarise the family of products in which it belongs to. The coloured boxes contain Google Plus, Mail, Search, Maps and Youtube respectively.

&#60;img src="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y1.jpg" width="600" height="298" width_o="600" height_o="298" src_o="http://payload42.cargocollective.com/1/6/208451/3159608/y1_o.jpg" data-mid="16151734"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;</description>

		<description>MPA Roses Brief - Revive the power of the written word.

An awareness campaign would be created entitled 'Asterisk', which focuses on different aspects associated with the written word. This would be highlighted via a three set poster campaign which is designed to be displayed specifically throughout London Underground stations.

It was important to use quotes that the viewer would be familiar with, even when altered. The aim is to get the viewer to relate with the campaign by being 'in on the joke'. The tagline on the introductory poster plays on the common misconception that an Asterisk is called an Asterix whereas the next two mention a character associated with the quote above it.

		<description>University Brief - Create promotional pieces for an upcoming film (imaginary or based on a book).

Based on a memorable book from childhood, Chocky by John Wyndham.

A short stop-motion animation (teaser/trailer) for the film was created using vectorised images of a class peer to resemble the character Chocky. Inspiration taken from Richard Linklater's films - A Scanner Darkly &#38; Waking Life.

A print campaign would run alongside this following the same theme.

		<description>University brief - "You have been commissioned to re-brand your chosen channel, producing a new logo and short storyboard/animated sting video."

As part of this project I created a sub channel of Film 4 titled 'Film 4 World Cinema' and chose 3 foreign films I was familiar with - Bicycle Thieves, Run Lola Run and Pan's Labyrinth. I chose a key scene from each to focus on for each individual iDent. With the addition of token still 'subtitle' frames to add to the channel theme.

A website was also created, featuring an interchangeable colour scheme and translation features.

After a bout of location hunting within Dundee, the 3 part iDent was filmed at Riverside Drive, West Henderson's Wynd and Peddie Street respectively.

Panasonic HD SD90 - Final Cut Pro 7.

		<description>University brief - Create a piece of packaging based on a creative.

Creative - Lewis Carroll (author of Alice in Wonderland, Through the looking glass etc)

This packaging would be used for a 'Looking glass lens', an optical lens which distorts the scale of objects, much similar to those who suffer from AIWS (Alice in Wonderland syndrome).

The prism package is housed inside a sleeve, with fold down sides featuring the instructions &#38; a passage from Carroll's Jabberwocky in distorted text. When viewed in the mirror opposite the text becomes readable. The package can be opened by inserting finger into the perforated 'eye' and pulling back. All illustrations on the outer and inner sides of the prism are original.
